General questions
Q. What is CBD?
CBD is a naturally occurring, non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant that exhibits numerous medicinal benefits. The two main ingredients of marijuana, Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), belong to a class of compounds known as cannabinoids.
Though CBD is just one of over 60 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, many scientific studies have indicated that CBD possesses the greatest therapeutic potential of all the cannabinoids. CBD is largely responsible for many of the health and wellness benefits of the cannabis plant. CBD offers many of the same medicinal benefits as medicinal marijuana, but unlike THC based products, CBD does not cause users to feel “high.”
This unique benefit of CBD allows you to think clearly and function fully throughout your day. Because it offers such a wide spectrum of potential medical benefits, many scientists consider CBD to be the most important of all cannabinoids.
Q. Is CBD legal?
Yes – The FDA considers hemp and hemp-derived extracts to be food-based products. As such, there are no legal restrictions to their importation, production and consumption in the United States and in most of the industrialized world. Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states and in over 40 countries. There are millions of hemp oil consumers around the world and this number is rapidly rising with an increasing number of reports and studies showing a variety of medicinal benefits of hemp oil.
Other questions
Q. Can I get high from CBD?
No – CBD is a non-psychoactive compound of the hemp plant. Hemp oil will not get you “high” so you can maintain a clear mind and active lifestyle.
Q. Will I fail a drug test using CBD?
No – You will not fail a drug test from using our CBD products, and here is the science: Immunoassays developed to detect THC metabolites usually have certain degrees of cross-reactivity with CBN (another cannabinoid) but have minimal or no detectable level of crossreactivity with the ring-opened compounds such as CBD, CBC (cannabichromene), and CBG (cannabigerol). This means that CBD can adopt a very different conformation compared to THC. This ring-opened property of CBD causes the antibodies not to recognize the molecule and, therefore, CBD itself cannot trigger a positive result on a drug test.
